Costume romance drama, “Love Better Than Immortality” (天雷一部之春花秋月), is currently airing on Youku. The series stars Zhao Lusi (赵露思) as “Chun Hua”, the female lead who meets male leads, “Qiu Yue” (秋月) and “Xiao Bai” (萧白) one after the other and embarks in a love triangle. Zhao Lusi was interviewed by “The Beijing News” (新京报) recently and she expressed “Chun Hua” is very direct towards the boy she likes. However, this is very different from her personality. Aside from a lot of the sweet doting and romantic pursuit scenes, there are also a lot of touching, sad and tearful scenes. Zhao Lusi candidly expressed, “In the series, there is a scene where she cries for no reason. She is crying to cheat the male lead, so I had to think of a way to burst out tears. I could only whimper.” Zhao Lusi had also once considered the trade off of whether to cry prettily or cry in a way that will influence the audience. She also adds, “I know I am very ugly when I cry, but I think it’s more important to influence the audience. In fact, I can’t cry the way same each time. Crying scenes are still a big challenge for me.”
