After Xiao Zhan’s (肖战) “red ocean” at the Tencent Video “All Star Night 2020” award ceremony on December 19, fans brought him another “red ocean” at Dragon TV’s New Year 2021 countdown ceremony. This is the second year Xiao Zhan performed on Dragon TV for its New Year’s Eve countdown. This year, he performed three songs, A-Mei’s “Depressed” (相愛後動物感傷), Zhang Qiang’s “Stop Asking Me What is Disco” (别再问我什么是迪斯科) with Na Ying”, and Su Yunying’s “Wild Child” (野子).

After performing “Depressed”, Xiao Zhan was reunited with his partner, Na Ying (那英), from “Our Song”. They performed “Stop Asking Me What is Disco”. Xiao Zhan was all smiles throughout the performance as it’s an upbeat song.

After 4 years, Xiao Zhan once again performed Su Sunying’s “Wild Child“, which he once performed on the show, X-FIRE, before his debut. The song is quite fitting considering the year he had. The lyrics convey a message about not giving up on charging forward and bravely facing challenges that comes at them.

Xiao Zhan was also trending for his performances not having background music or vocals accompanying the song while singing. It was completely his vocals with many netizens saying his singing was very stable.
