Wajijiwa Apologizes and Takes Down “Hidden Love For You” After Licensing Disputes

Wajijiwa Entertainment is responsible for bringing the drama adaptation of the beloved hit C-Drama, “Hidden Love”, which starred Zhao Lusi and Chen Zheyuan. On June 24, 2025, YOUKU, announced a micro-drama remake of “Hidden Love”, called “Hidden Love For You” (偷偷藏不住之许你), would air on June 26. The news immediately sparked a response from JJWXC (Jinjiang Wenxuecheng), the book publisher, and Xiao Zhuyi, author of ‘”Hidden Love”.

JJWXC issued a statement claiming Wajijiwa violated the terms of their original contract, which explicitly stated any online micro-drama adaptations of “Hidden Love” were not authorized in their licensing agreement. The contract was valid from 2019 to August 24, 2024. The micro-drama filming period lasted from Aug. 6 to Aug. 23 of 2024. JJWXC and Xiao Zhuyi claims they weren’t notified of the filming. and that the micro-drama was registered as an online drama. In response, Wajijiwa claimed their original agreement for the film and tv adaptation of “Hidden Love” included movies, dramas, web dramas, and web movies. Wajijiwa, JJWXC, and Xiao Zhuyi continued to go back and forth over the licensing disputes.

However, on July 4, Wajijiwa issued a statement stating they have reached an agreement with JJWXC and Xiao Zhuyi. They issued an apology to JJWXC, Xiao Zhuyi, readers and the audience who watched, “Hidden Love”, for “any oversight in the film and tv adaptation of ‘Hidden Love’.” They will strictly fulfill the contractual obligations to avoid similar incidents from happening again. WJJW also said as of July 3, they will permanently take down “Hidden Love For You” from all broadcasting platforms.
