New Chinese actor, Tian Xuning (田栩宁), shot to fame and became an overnight sensation starring in the hit Chinese BL drama, “Revenged Love” (逆爱). Due to Tian Xuning’s new found popularity, jumping from less than one million Weibo followers to over 2.7M followers since the drama aired, fans and viewers started to dig up his personal life. This resulted in rumors circulating about Tian Xuning’s being secretly married with children, then about his previous girlfriend, and even rumors about him attending a recent music festival with his current girlfriend.

The 27 year old actor’s agency, Huace Film & TV, issued a statement on July 6, stating the rumors about him being married with children are false and that he is currently single. They are taking legal action against those spreading rumors. Following his agency’s statement, Tian Xuning, apologized to fans in a Weibo post. Tian Xuning was also seen bowing 90 degrees several times to fans when getting off the car. It’s reported Tian Xuning’s Weibo account grew 200,000 followers after he issued his apology.

While BL dramas are still banned in China, “Revenged Love” aired on GagaOOLala, a Taiwanese based streaming platform for LGBTQ+ series. “Revenged Love” is an adaptation from famed Chinese BL author, Chai Jidan, responsible for hit BL novels that were adapted into dramas like “Addicted” and “Advanced Bravely”.
