Gillian Chung (鍾欣潼) and Taiwanese husband, Michael Lai (賴弘國), officially tied the knot on the 18th. Today, the two held their second wedding ceremony with 38 tables at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong Hotel. IT was a star studded event as many celebrities from the Hong Kong and Taiwan entertainment industry were in attendance. Gillian Chung’s bridesmaids include her elementary school friend and label mates, Charlene Choi (蔡卓妍), Joey Yung (容祖兒), and Yumiko Cheng (鄭希怡). She was escorted into the banquet hall by EEG boss, Albert Yeung (楊受成). It is said Albert Yeung paid for all the wedding banquet expenses and gifted the newly weds an apartment worth over 10 million HKD in Shanghai and a pair of “dragon/phoenix” bracelets.

Albert Yeung also made a speech saying, “Thank you dear friends for attending Michael and Gillian’s big day. I wish them a happy and everlasting marriage. But I hope they don’t have kids so fast because if Gillian gets pregnant, she can’t work. She is one of the top earners in EEG.” Charlene Choi interrupts and says, “Golden egg! I will take her place first.” Gillian Chung responds back, “Are you helping me get pregnant first?” Charlene Choi says, “I am helping you with work!”

After the banquet, the couple accepted interviews with the media. When asked if a lot of people referred to her as Mrs. Lai today, she said, “Not that many, but I am getting used to it.” On how she feels about being called Mrs. Lai, “My last name is Lai. It’s very useful. I can use it anytime.” When asked if she has started referring to Michael Lai as “husband” yet, Gillian Chung says, “I’ve been calling him “husband”. He has also been calling me “wife.”

Gillian Chung also shared she didn’t want to reveal the L.A. wedding celebration from May because she wanted to show the clips from that day in today’s ceremony. She says, “A lot of people said I was getting married for a year. It makes me a bit helpless. I only signed the marriage certificate two days ago and had the banquet today.” On their baby making plans, Gillian Chung asks her hubby in Mandarin, “Can you help me get pregnant?” He replied, “I also want to help. Let nature take its course.” When asked how many points he would give his wife, he responded, “100.” On how pretty Gillian Chung looked tonight, Michael Lai responded in heavily accented Cantonese, “Pretty good.” The reporters erupted into laughter and asked, “Only pretty good? It should be very pretty!” Michael Lai corrects himself and says he is in the process of learning Cantonese.
