Japanese model and actress, Kiko Mizuhara, seems to have a love hate relationship with netizens. She has a reputation for being daring, direct, and edgy. Back in May, she received a lot of backlash with Japanese netizens when she recounted an unpleasant experience with an Uber driver asking her if she was an AV actress. At the time, Japanese netizens criticized her for making comments that were deemed demeaning to adult film workers. Kiko Mizuhara later clarified she was not discriminating against them. She is under fire with Japanese netizens again with a picture from her recent photoshoot for INDIE MAGAZINE.

Uber Driver Asked G-Dragon’s Ex-Girlfriend, Kiko Mizuhara, if She was an AV Actress

The backdrop of Kiko Mizuhara’s pictures are set in what looks to be a traditional Japanese room. Someone with more conservative values might say these pictures are provocative.

What really got some Japanese netizens angered was this picture. Kiko Mizuhara is sitting on a coffee table wearing a thong and her legs wide open against the Japanese backdrop. A number of Japanese netizens were offended with her pose in this picture. Many of them left comments such as, “Very nasty behavior.”, “Japanese people wouldn’t sit on the table like this.”, “This is simply insulting Japanese culture.”, “The picture makes people very unhappy.” There were also supporters who said Kiko Mizuhara’s style has always been this extreme and that it shouldn’t be insulting Japan.

Kiko Mizuhara didn’t respond to any of the backlash this time. Do you think this picture is offensive to Japanese culture?
