After last year’s video leak showing Li Xiaolu (李小璐) and PG One being intimate, she and Jia Nailiang (贾乃亮) announced their divorce after 7 years of marriage. She has been on a semi-hiatus from showbiz for a little more than two years. Her time has been primarily focused on taking care of her daughter, Tian Xin (甜馨), and being an influencer promoting her own clothing brand and other products.
Li Xiaolu recently sat down with Sina Entertainment to talk about one of her three new songs, “The Whale Falls” (鲸落). The song talks about all of Li Xiaolu’s emotions about being a mother, her daughter, and the ups and downs in life. Li Xiaolu wrote this lyric in the song, “In order to protect the one beneath me, even if she humbly becomes a grain of sand.” She explained that her daughter will be facing a lot of difficulties in the future. She will always be by her side and face it with her.
When the interviewer asked if she has come out of this difficult period of hers, Li Xiaolu says, “It’s considered a bit more stable now. Can’t say I’ve come out of it. If you’re doing well, you’re living. If you’re bad, you’re still living. You need to live well because the people around you are putting their hopes on you. So I will work hard to move forward. Maybe when I was younger, I’d be even more upset. Now that I am an adult and have a child, there are a lot of things I need to adjust quickly.”
Li Xiaolu comes from an acting family and started out with a great acting career with accolades, fame, and popularity. Because of the previous scandals, her image and career have taken a big hit. In recent years, she has been working on music and even became an influencer selling products through live streams. There have been a lot of harsh words thrown at Li Xiaolu like, “Celebrity succumbing to being an internet celebrity”, “ruining a good set of cards, “starting off high and ended low.” When asked how she felt about those comments, Li Xiaolu said, “To me, it’s not important at all. My state of mind has already changed. My original intentions are good so there is nothing that can block the bright light in my heart.”
As for not filming anything in the past two years, Li Xiaolu said, “There’s no need to force many things. I tend to do as I please. I just want to do some things I like to do. I won’t really go chase after the shiny and bright things. That’s why I am teaching my daughter well.”
When asked to share about her current relationship status, Li Xiaolu said, “None, none, none, completely none. My relationship is with Tian Xin.” Li Xiaolu declined to comment on her current outlook on love and marriage. She explained, “There’s no need to share because I don’t represent everyone. I say it and it will only become gossip. I feel like everyone should live their life well and have their own perceptions because your life will never overlap with someone else.”
