Leo Luo Yunxi (罗云熙) and Cheng Xiao (程潇) were announced as the leads in new modern drama, “Lie to Love” (良言写意), on November 30. Filming also started on the same day. The series is based off of the novel of the same name by author, Mu Fusheng. Prior to the official announcement, the official Weibo already teased fans with this video.
The storyline revolves around a young couple, “Li Zeliang” (played by Leo Luo) and “Su Xieyi” (played by Cheng Xiao), who fall in love fast and experience an unforgettable romance. Due to a sudden change of fate, it results in the destruction of “Su Xieyi’s” family and her break up with “Li Zeliang”. All the clues point to “Li Zeliang” as the perpetrator behind her family’s demise.
In order to uncover the truth, “Su Xieyi” pretends to have memory loss and goes back to her former lover’s side, “Li Zeliang”. When they meet again, they are no longer the intimate lovers they once were. From being the once bright and free “Li Zeliang”, he is now a cold and lonely CEO. This becomes a game of romance and danger, but in the end, “Su Xieyi” exacts revenge by destroying “Li Zeliang’s” career. However, when the truth is finally revealed about what happened years ago, “Su Xieyi” realizes she has been wrongly blaming “Li Zeliang”. She tries her best to restore this relationship, which “Li Zeliang” responds to with a seal engraved with both of their names.
Leo Luo and Cheng Xiao also interacted with each other on Weibo. He wrote, “Xie Yi, it turns out to be you.” and tags Cheng Xiao. As for Cheng Xiao, she wrote, “Ah Yan, we meet again.” and tags Leo Luo.
