From the creators of Taiwan’s female idol group survival show, “DD52” (菱格世代 Dancing Diamond 52), comes a new male idol group survival show called, “ATOM BOYZ” (原子少年ATOM BOYZ). There are reports the show invited Ella Chen (陳嘉樺) to serve as the lead mentor. This will be her first time mentoring a male idol survival show as she previously served as a mentor on Tencent’s “Produce 101 China” and iQiyi’s “Youth With You 2”. The show reportedly wanted to bring back Rainie Yang (楊丞琳) as a mentor, but she had to decline due to scheduling conflicts. There will be a total of three mentors.
The show is currently taking applications and is set to start filming around April and premiere in July. The trainees will be separated into 8 groups and ultimately two groups will be chosen to debut with a total of 10 people. The first round of eliminations will be decided by the senior female trainees from the sister show, DD52.

Ella Chen’s management company responded to the reports saying, “We did receive an invitation from the show. At the moment, we’re still at the stage of meeting and preparing. It’ll be the production team officially making the announcement.”
