Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) was a guest on TVB show, “Mama’s Day” (日日媽媽聲), where celebrity mothers share their experiences on their journey to motherhood. On the episode that aired on April 10, Anita Yuen revealed when she was first deciding to get pregnant, she was already 35. She had quit smoking to condition her body to start naturally conceiving. After three months of trying, she discovered she was pregnant.
After having her now 14 year old son, Morton, Anita Yuen and Chilam Cheung wanted to try for a second baby. Anita Yuen revealed she had always wanted another child as she grew up with an older brother and a younger sister. As she was already 35 years old when she gave birth to Morton, Anita Yuen and Chilam Cheung tried to conceive another child for a few years, but failed. Anita Yuen revealed she had also tried several IVF attempts, but still failed to get pregnant.
After a few years of trying, the couple gave up. She described the most painful thing about it was getting the injections and the embryos being implanted into her body. Anita Yuen said not having a second child was her biggest regret and that her age was probably a big contributing factor. In previous interviews, Anita Yuen had also brought up her regrets for not having a second child. However, after the couple gave up trying, she didn’t think about it again.
