THE9’s Lu Keran (陆柯燃) had to take some time off last August from promoting due to some personal matters. As it turns out, it was the passing of Lu Keran’s mother, in which she had to return home and take care of the funeral matters. On the July 9th episode of “Mr. Housework 3” (做家务的男人3), Lu Keran was a guest and while talking with the other guests, she revealed her mother’s passing. Lu Keran grew up with her mother since young and she said she had “no father.” Her mother later remarried and her step-father treated her mother very well and so she treated him like he was her real father.
Shortly after THE9’s debut, they had started filming for their variety show, “Let’s Party” (非日常派對). Lu Keran had been traveling back and forth between Shanghai and Jiangsu because her mother was at the hospital at the time. As Lu Keran had a weak immune system, her mother wouldn’t allow her to stay the hospital because she was worried about the hospital having too many germs. So she tried to drive Lu Keran away, but she would sleep at the hospital everyday and didn’t dare to leave.
Lu Keran had to film one day, so her mother told her to leave, but she was conflicted on whether or not she should leave. What she didn’t expect was that after she left, her mother had passed. Lu Keran said, “When I rushed back the next day, I didn’t get to see my mother for the last time.”
