Following the success of last year’s “Forensic Heroes IV”, there has been many buzz around the cast for the fifth installment. Even though producer, Miu Siu Ching behind the success of the “Forensic Heroes” franchise has retired, it will continue on without her.
Back in March 2020, there were rumors that Charmaine Sheh and Linda Chung would be making cameos in the finale episode of “Forensic Heroes IV” to segue into the fifth series. However, that didn’t happen. There were recent reports that Pakho Chau (周柏豪) and Priscilla Wong (黃翠如) would be starring in “Forensic Heroes V” (法證先鋒V) and start filming next month. However, the latest reports point to Pakho Chau and Priscilla Wong being replaced with Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) and Jacky Cai (蔡潔).
According to Oriental Daily News, Priscilla Wong has been dealing with some personal issues and hasn’t been able to be invested in work. As for Pakho Chau, he had just finished filming and has a concert coming up soon. So he had to change schedules to be there for his new baby boy born last August. Since the series is cooperating with Chinese investors, TVB is also being cautious of China’s new “Qinglang” clean up measures in the entertainment industry. As a result, Bosco Wong, Jacky Cai, Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪), Sisley Choi (蔡思貝), Tony Hung (洪永城), and Venus Wong (王敏奕), will be starring in “Forensic Heroes V”.
Executive producer of the series, Ben Fong (方浤酌), revealed there will be many segments to the series. Bosco Wong and Jacky Cai will be playing forensic pathologists. Benjamin Yuen and Venus Wong will be portraying police officers while Tony Hung will be portraying a doctor. As for Sisley Choi, she is said to be portraying many characters.
Bosco Wong hasn’t filmed a TVB series since 4 years ago and reportedly accepted Eric Tsang’s invitation to return this time. He revealed, “Very happy! Left TVB for a few years already. The last series [I filmed] was “Heart and Greed” (溏心風暴3). I already read the script for over 10 episodes. I couldn’t hold it in and continued reading it. I am really pleased beyond my expectations.”
Jacky Cai and Tony Hung will reportedly have a romantic storyline. As it turns out, the two have known each other for a long time, but it will be their first time working together. Tony Hung will be playing a hooligan doctor.
