Yang Chaoyue Responds to Netizen Ridiculing Her for Not Finishing Junior High School

Former Rocket Girls 101 member, Yang Chaoyue (杨超越), debuted in third place on “Produce 101 China” back in 2018. Since then, she’s had many opportunities and is one of the popular members of the group. However, there have always been many criticisms about her singing and dancing skills and even about her upbringing.

Yang Chaoyue grew up in the countryside and was raised by her father after her parents divorced. Due to her family’s economic conditions, she skipped going to high school and started working various odd jobs to support the family.

Yang Chaoyue had recently updated her bio on a social media app to say, “That’s right, I am the person you hate. I want to exist forever in your life.” This was reportedly in response to some anti-fans. One of those netizens left a comment on one of her posts, saying, “Sorry, you still don’t have the power to make me hate you yet or rather you’re not worthy of my hate because after all, I am not someone who hasn’t even finished junior high. There is nothing to compare between us.”

In response to this comment, Yang Chaoyue said, “Then you are very lucky. It is said that university students’ lives are especially wonderful.”

  1. A high education does not make you a better person than others no matter what ppl believe in Asia. With their education, they still clearly have no manners. These people will always fail in life.

  2. It’s really unwise to look down upon people who are not so fortunate to be able to have a better education. This group of better educated people don’t really learn as they don’t even realise that by criticising others only make them look lowly.

  3. Her singing/dancing/acting skills are just not up to par. Instead of improving, she chose to respond to netizen’s comments. Grow up, if you cannot stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!

  4. Wow, that is so unnecessary. This person obviously feels inferior if they need to publicly try to shame her for not finishing school. Everyone has different paths, and you can be successful either way. The important thing is to be a kind person, which she seems to be!

  5. Oh my goodness…some people are just hateful. That person should count her blessings that she was born in a family background that she is able to go to university. Not every kid in China is as lucky as her. To mock YCY for her lack of education shows this person’s lack of good up bringing n education. I wonder what would this person do if she was born in the same family condition as YCY.
