Hong Kong actor, Him Law (羅子溢), who shifted his focus on the mainland China market, has been working back in Hong Kong since the pandemic started last year. His currently airing series, “Kids’ Lives Matter” (星空下的仁醫), reunited him with his “The Hippocratic Crush” (On Call 36小時), co-stars, Kenneth Ma (馬國明) and Catherine Chau (周家怡). Unfortunately, Him Law’s wife, Tavia Yeung (楊茜堯), who was also in “The Hippocratic Crush”, couldn’t join the reunion.
At the end of last year, Him Law and Tavia Yeung both went back to mainland China to film the web series, “Modern Dynasty” (家族榮耀). However, they don’t play a couple. Him Law explained that the audience might find them too pretentious if they played a couple in the series.
After being married for 4 years, Tavia Yeung gave birth to their daughter, Hera, in April 2020. When asked about having more kids, Him Law expressed, “We’ve always went with the flow. However, I will be working in the mainland next year. Later on, I might move the whole family to Shanghai or Beijing…these big cities to live in. Our daughter would also go to school in these cities.”
Him Law frankly said that in order to make more money to support his family, he decided to make the decision to leave Hong Kong. He added, “The mainland entertainment circle has more opportunities after all. As an actor, I hope to have even bigger platforms to develop. Also, as a parent, I don’t want the next generation to suffer as much as I did when I was a kid. It doesn’t matter which city we go to. If the pandemic gets better and we don’t need to quarantine, then it”ll be convenient to go back to Hong Kong from anywhere.”
Him Law explains him and Tavia Yeung already have a consensus that after his work is stable, he would arrange for her and their daughter to settle down in mainland China.
