Miss Hong Kong 2001 winner, Shirley Yeung (楊思琦), surprised everyone today when she announced she was already married and confirmed she was pregnant with her second child. Before the announcement, everyone knew her as a single mother with a 7 year old daughter, Krystal Yeung (楊卓穎). There were already pregnancy rumors circulating last month when she was in South Korea filming for a variety show. People who bumped into her said she looked round and that her belly was protruding a bit. However, on her social media accounts, her pictures didn’t show any signs of a belly.

She confirmed the pregnancy news today to Oriental Daily News, saying, “Thank you everyone for your blessings. I got married with my non-industry boyfriend elsewhere during the middle of the year. I can finally share the good news with everyone. I finally found my “forest”. “Wing Wing” (Krystal) is also very happy to be an older sister.” When asked about her husband’s identity, Shirley Yeung responded, “He is not in the industry. I don’t want to affect him, that’s why we kept it low key about my husband and the baby.”
On whether her husband is her previously rumored partner, Peter Ko Kin Hung (高健行), she responds, “No, my husband was introduced by a friend.” Shirley Yeung also explained she delayed her wedding and pregnancy announcements for fear of the baby being “petty” and that she didn’t want to affect her husband and the baby. She said, “It was all planned out so I didn’t intentionally announce or hide it. If anyone asked me, I would’ve admitted to it.”
Shirley Yeung’s pregnancy announcement in 2011 was met with some controversy when she wouldn’t reveal the father’s identity. She was already in a long term relationship with TVB actor, Gregory Lee (李泳豪), who she dated for 9 years. After they broke up, she was said to be dating a diver, Andy Ng (吳帥). However, they broke up a few months afterwards. Shirley Yeung gave birth to Krystal in the United States. It was later revealed the father was Andy Ng, but Krystal follows Shirley Yeung’s last name.
