Michael Tao (陶大宇) and Derek Kok (郭政鴻) are hosts and judges of ViuTV’s new cooking show, “Hot Chef” (辣伙頭). They are joined by celebrity chef, Christian Yang (楊尚友). Just like TVB’s “Beautiful Cooking” (美女廚房), they will judge the cooking of 8 girls. When asked if he was worried about throwing up, Michael Tao said, “No, they all cook with high levels, have a lot of heart.” One of the contestants, Lokyii, had once participated in “Beautiful Cooking”, and said she must get rid of her previous nickname “chef from hell”.

As for the show being similar to TVB’s “Beautiful Cooking”, Michael Tao says he doesn’t think they’re the same. He revealed the competition is much more serious and said the beauties were chosen after a screening. They also said they were really harsh with their criticisms and felt bad as someone had cried. Michael Tao said they wouldn’t have a “chef from hell” either, while Derek Kok said, “They were really cooking seriously. They practiced hard.”
The series will be a total of 15 episodes. The both of them revealed they would be inviting guests on the show. When asked if Adam Cheng (鄭少秋) would be invited, Michael Tao said, “Depends on ViuTV’s plans because a lot of times we only know about things last minute. Maybe it’s to give us a surprise.” On how much points they will add to contestants if they reveal more skin or act coy with them, Michael Tao says, “We really need to examine ourselves. They didn’t act coy with us. We are pretty stylish, but no one bothered us.”
