Ariel Chen (林依晨) hasn’t worked on a drama or film since she last filmed the series, “I Will Never Let You Go” (小女花不弃) in 2018. She has previously explained her reason for stepping back was to start a family with her husband, Charles. Back in March, she explained her struggles on her journey in trying to get pregnant.

However, on July 9, netizens discovered Ariel Lin’s Chinese work studio had seemed to quietly dissolved, leading to speculations about whether Ariel Lin is quitting showbiz. The studio’s status was changed to canceled and the reason was for dissolution. Ariel Lin’s manager spoke with Taiwanese media denying the rumors that she is retreating from the entertainment industry. They explained the studio’s dissolution won’t impact Ariel Lin’s work, but didn’t provide the reasons on why the studio was dissolved.

While Ariel Lin has been on a hiatus, she recently expressed that she had a found a project in which the script is still a work in progress and would probably start filming next year.
