Natalie Tong Denies Wanting to Leave TVB

There have been rumors circulating lately that Natalie Tong (唐詩詠) wants to leave TVB for greener pastures after being with the company for over 17 years. It’s reported Natalie Tong feels opportunities to develop her career further have decreased over the years. She also didn’t have any series aired in the last two years. Her last aired series was back in 2019 with “The Man Who Kills Troubles”. She has four series that are still waiting to air.

Natalie Tong’s breakthrough came as “Cherry” in the 2017 hit drama, “My Unfair Lady” (不懂撒嬌的女人), which earned her the Best Actress award at the 2017 TVB Anniversary awards. After getting the award, she became TVB’s “IT girl”, filming 10 advertisements and getting the anniversary dramas, like “Big White Duel” (白色強人). However, it’s reported Natalie Tong hasn’t filmed any advertisements in the past three years and hasn’t gotten much breakthrough roles.

Natalie Tong has reportedly been dragging renewal contract talks with TVB as she is undecided whether to stay or not. There were also rumors that she was getting offers to sign with other companies. However, in a recent interview she denied intentions of wanting to leave and said, “Haven’t talked about renewing the contract yet. There is still a long way to go with TVB’s contract.”
