While the mania for Chinese drama, “You Are My Glory” (你是我的荣耀), has sizzled down a bit for some Chinese and international fans, it has continued on in Thailand. Aside from netizens, Thai celebrities are just as invested into the series and the leads, Yang Yang (杨洋) and Dilraba (迪丽热巴). It’s reported the series was such a hit in Thailand that it was dubbed in Thai for WeTV Thailand users, which aired on September 6.
So just how popular is “You Are My Glory” in Thailand?
Popular Thai actress, Min Pechaya photoshopped herself over Dilraba’s face in one of the posters.
Another Thai actress, Panward Hemmanee, also took the liberty of photoshopping her face onto Dilraba’s on a poster. She asked if there were any series that could possibly have her move on from Yang Yang and revealed she had already watched it 5 times already.
Thai volleyball player, Wilavan Apinyapong, was waiting for Monday to roll around for the new episodes to air.
The mania for the series and the leads wasn’t limited to just women. Thai actor, Singto, known for the 2016 Thai BL series, “SOTUS: The Series“, was also a major fan. He introduced “You Are My Glory” to his followers and said there were parts where he was rolling on the floor laughing. Singto also praised Dilraba for being beautiful and Yang Yang for being handsome.
It’s no wonder that Dilraba and Yang Yang are WeTV ambassadors. Both stars also have a sizable fan base in Thailand. In June 2019, Dilraba and Yang Yang visited Thailand to promote WeTV alongside Nichkhun. Yang Yang even had a Thai fan meeting while he was there.
