“Jun Jiu Ling” Producer Responds to Netizen’s Criticisms of Jin Han Being “Too Ugly” for His Role

Chinese costume drama, “Jun Jiu Ling” (君九龄), stars Jin Han (金瀚) and Peng Xiaoran (彭小苒), is currently airing. However, ever since the drama aired, there have been a lot of criticisms about male lead, Jin Han, not being suitable for the role.

Many netizens said Jin Han was “too ugly”, “rough-looking”, “not matching with Peng Xiaoran”, “not suitable for ancient costume dramas”, and more. Aside from his appearance, some netizens felt his acting was “greasy” and “exerted too much force”.

Producer of “Jun Jiu Ling”, Yan Dandan (闫丹丹) was recently asked if she ever hesitated when selecting Jin Han as the male lead. She said they never hesitated as they all thought at the time that Jin Han was extremely suitable for the role. She also said, “Jin Han had previously portrayed similar characters before in his war dramas. Even though he doesn’t fit our aesthetic of being the boy that is pale, tender, small brows, big eyes, but he has that masculine temperament that is very suitable to his character’s general image in the series. That’s why we selected him.”

  1. Wow, that’s brutal. Netizens now a days truly think of stupid things to say…go look at yourselves in the mirror first and ask if you are even worthy of getting a role please.
