Miss Hong Kong 2007 first runner up, Grace Wong (王君馨), announced her departure from TVB on Instagram. On December 18, Grace Wong posted a picture of her wearing a graduation gown and announced her 14 years at TVB had officially ended. She started off the post, saying, “I graduated!” After getting first runner up at the 2007 Miss Hong Kong pageant, Grace Wong joined TVB at 21 years old. She described her journey as if she was in school starting from kindergarten, attending high school, joining the pageant, from hosting to emceeing to acting.
Grace Wong started gaining mainstream popularity with her role “Fa Man” in the 2016 series, “A Fist Within Four Walls” (城寨英雄). Her performance earned her the “Most Popular Female Character” award at the 2016 TVB Anniversary Awards. Since then, Grace Wong slowly got promoted to supporting lead to female lead.
However, there were rumors that Grace Wong was displeased with the lack of promotion for her role in the trailer and posters for the yet to air series, “I’ve Got The Power” (超能使者), where she is one of the leads. In addition, it’s said Grace Wong was given the cold shoulder during contract re-negotiations, which led to her decision to leave the company when her contract expired.
