Xiao Zhan (肖战) and Li Qin (李沁) were announced as the leads new drama, “Where Dreams Begin” (梦中的那片海). The series takes place in Beijing during the 1970s and follows the lives of a group of young people growing up and chasing after their dreams.

Xiao Zhan plays the protagonist, “Xiao Chunsheng”, who is loyal and values his family and friends. He works hard in order for all the people around him to live a better life. With his two good buddies, they go through the trials and tribulations of the gaokao, staLi Qin plays, “Tong Xiaomei”, a girl from Beijing who enthusiastically pursues her dream of becoming a doctor.

This is Xiao Zhan and Li Qin’s fifth collaboration together. They have previously worked together on “The Wolf” (狼殿下), “Battle Through the Heavens” (斗破苍穹), “Joy of Life” (庆余年), and “Jade Dynasty” (诛仙). However, of these projects, they’ve only had scenes with each other primarily in “The Wolf” and “Jade Dynasty”.
