Ruby Lin’s self-produced Netflix drama, “Light the Night” (華燈初上), in which she also starred in, was a ratings and critical hit. The plot and mystery of Sue’s killer kept viewers on edge for three seasons. It’s now being reported TVB will be remaking “Light the Night” with the Hong Kong night clubs from the ’80s and ’90s as the backdrop.
It’s reported Hong Kong film producer, Wong Jing (王晶), will be producing the series for TVB. It’s rumored Elaine Yiu (姚子羚), Mat Yeung (楊明), Kelly Fu (傅嘉莉), Jacky Cai (蔡潔), and Miss Hong Kong 2021 contestant, Yvette Chan (陳聖瑜), are part of the cast. Mat Yeung currently has some legal issues stemming from his car accident last year and has been on a hiatus from work. Wong Jing spoke to the media on April 9 and said the cast is set by TVB, but he doesn’t have any issues with Mat Yeung being casted nor is he worried about his legal issues affecting the filming. He also revealed the series is solely a TVB production.
As for Mat Yeung getting a “rebirth” opportunity from TVB with this role, he said, “Actually, I’m not sure. The company hasn’t notified me yet. I will wait for the company to arrange work matters.”
Why would anyone want to watch this? I already know this will have poorer acting, poorer visuals, poorer costumes/sets, etc. Why set yourself up for failure, TVB?
that is trash… TVB now is making remake serie…
