Hu Ge (胡歌) was in attendance at the Shanghai International Breast Cancer Symposium (SIBCS) to promote health awareness on September 1. He shared his late mother’s experience battling breast cancer, saying, “My mother was a breast cancer before she died. It was very difficult for her. She has been battling cancer for 29 years. In my mind, she has always been a very great mother. Because during this very long treatment process, not only did she have to suffer through the torment of the pain, she still had to be responsible for raising me and taking care of this family.”
At the end, Hu Ge said these qualities he saw in his mother, “strength, open-mindedness, optimism”, heavily affected him. He wants to share his mother’s energy and qualities to other patients that are currently fighting their sickness battles.
Hu Ge has been an ambassador for SIBCS since 2017. His mother passed away in 2019 from breast cancer.
