Wang Leehom Bought Out a Theater in L.A. for “Crazy Rich Asians” Viewing Party

Leehom is currently in Los Angeles on paternity leave with his wife, who  gave birth to their son and third child last month.  Last night, he bought out a theater for one hundred of his family and friends to watch “Crazy Rich Asians” to support the film.

Jon M. Chu, director of “Crazy Rich Asians” and Russell Wong, known for “Joy Luck Club” and “Vanishing Son” were also in attendance.  Leehom hopes there will be more Asian American films mirroring the success of “Crazy Rich Asians” in Hollywood.  As it has been been heavily marketed, there hasn’t been a full fledged Asian cast Hollywood film since “Joy Luck Club”, which came out twenty five years ago.
