The “Young and Dangerous” (古惑仔) gang were in Sha Tin, Hong Kong yesterday to promote their new film, “Golden Job”《黃金兄弟》. This is the first time in 18 years the cast and crew reunited on the silver screen. Actor, Eric Tsang, who has a role and serves as producer in the film was also in attendance. Aside from family members and industry friends, even actor Francis Ng, who played villain “Ugly Kwan” (𡃁坤) in “Young and Dangerous”, came out to support the film and cast.
Chin Ka Lok: Don’t ask for so much, Michael Tse!
Chin Ka Lok, who also serves as director of the film, got emotional when talking about the success in Taiwan. Chin says, “After going to Taiwan, the five of us were really happy. It was well received over there and they requested for the Cantonese version. They wanted to hear our voices. We didn’t expect such a reaction. We didn’t think that making a film 18 years later, the reception would be so good. So that night in the hotel, we stayed up until four something in the morning. That night we talked about not forgetting what our original intentions were and that we can’t ask for too high of a paycheck if there is a sequel. This was mainly directed towards Michael Tse (謝天華).”
When asked if he is trying to earn money for baby milk formula, Michael responds, “It depends on my four brothers.” Chin then asks, “Has he mentioned it yet?” The reporters all respond no with the rest of the gang egging Michael on to reveal the good news. Michael says, “The happy news is that there will be a second one [child] coming soon. I can announce it [the sex]. It’s pink. [referring to a girl].
