After the successful season 1 variety show, “Viva La Romance” (妻子的浪漫旅行), MangoTV quickly announced their plans for season 2 with a new cast. From season 1, only Xie Na (謝娜) and Jason Zhang Jie (張杰) are returning. They are joined by three new couples: Zhang Ziyi (章子怡) and Wang Feng (汪峰), Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) and Chilam Cheung (張智霖), and Zhang Jiani (張嘉倪) and her husband. The show’s official Weibo announced the first episode of season 2 will air on Thursdays starting on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, at 12:00PM.

Once it was discovered Zhang Ziyi was joining the show, there were mixed reactions from the public. Some netizens felt as Zhang Ziyi is an international celebrity, why would she join such a show. On the 11th, Zhang Ziyi posted a response on Weibo in regards to the public’s reactions. She said, “This is quite an unconventional decision.” She continues to say in 2015, she married Wang Feng and aside from having two babies in her life, she has a new outlook on life from her new found experiences as a wife and mother. She hopes to let everyone know her truest self through the show.
