Thailand is Remaking Taiwanese Series, "The Prince Who Turns into a Frog"

It was recently announced China was remaking popular Taiwanese series, “The Prince Who Turns into a Frog” (王子變青蛙). Now there are reports of Thailand also remaking the series with Son (Yuke Songpaisarn) to star as the lead role. Son is Thai-Chinese with 3/4 of him being Chinese descent. He stands at 184 CM and is 31 years old this year. He revealed in an interview he was going to star in a remake of a Taiwanese idol drama set to start filming in May or June. He also says he will be playing an heir to a conglomerate with the main plot talking about two major families battling against each other.

It is reported the whole series is financed by a Chinese company, but will be filmed in Thailand with an entirely Thai cast. The series will also be dubbed in Chinese and aired in China. This is considered to be Son’s first foray into the Chinese market. He didn’t say what the series was, but from what fans can infer from Son’s interview, they surmise the series will be “The Prince Who Turns into a Frog.” In fact, besides “The Prince Who Turns into a Frog,” three other Taiwanese series were rumored to be remade by Thailand in 2018, including: “Autumn’s Concerto” (下一站幸福), “My Lucky Star” (放羊的星星), and “Bromance” (愛上哥們).
