After much speculation and rumors, Zhang Ziyi (章子怡) has announced she is pregnant with her second child today. She and her husband, Wang Feng, (汪峰), already have a daughter, born in 2015. The rumors started a few months ago when it was said Zhang Ziyi was seen with a belly. There was even a rumor that she had already given birth in the US.

She is in Tokyo today attending the 2019 Tokyo International Film Festival as the President of Jury. After the event ended, she posted the announcement on Weibo saying:
“I am here to share my joy with everyone. My identity today, is the 32nd Tokyo International Film Festival President of Jury. In the coming 8 days, I, along with my 4 colleagues, will select 7 works out of 14 to be awarded. Today, my special identity, someone who is dedicated, professional, and insists on working, is going to be a mom, 30 weeks along, weight 128 pounds (continues to increase). Both of these identities makes me very proud. Thank you everyone for your care and support all along.”
Zhang Ziyi, who is 40 this year,had once said she wanted two children and also fulfill Wang Feng’s dream of having a son. Aside from his daughter with Zhang Ziyi, Wang Feng also has two daughters from previous marriages. The pregnancy rumors started in April this year. It was reported she had turned down a lot of work. During this period, Zhang Ziyi and Wang Feng wouldn’t directly answer questions regarding her pregnancy. They would always respond back with “You guess.”
