On December 15, there were reports by Taiwanese media that Wang Leehom (王力宏) and his wife, Lee Jinglei (李靚蕾), were divorced. Wang Leehom’s manager responded to the media saying that according to his knowledge, there is no divorce at all. However, Wang Leehom posted on Weibo and Facebook shortly after his manager’s response and revealed him and Lee Jinglei have filed for divorce.
Wang Leehom’s post read: “Jinglei and my private life is very simple and pure, so I won’t be responding anymore to any media outlet. During these years of marriage, there were too many areas where I was lacking and I also feel very regretful. Right now we have different views and plans for our future lifestyle, so we have decided to live separately. Although the application has already been submitted, but we will always be a family. Pleading to the public to give us privacy and space, don’t bother the family. Thank you everyone for your concern.”
Wang Leehom announced his relationship with Lee Jinglei on November 27, 2013 by posting a picture of them. He revealed her name was Lee Jinglei and a 27 year old graduate student at Columbia University. Wang Leehom’s manager at the time revealed they met through their families and knew each other for more than 10 years. Wang Leehom is 10 years her senior.
On November 29, 2013, Wang Leehom thanked his friends, fans, and the media, confirming him and Lee Jinglei were married. On December 23, 2013, Wang Leehom sang numerous of his classic love songs to serenade Lee Jinglei, who was sitting offstage. When his fans assembled urging him to have children, he said “Please give use time, we will try hard.”
On May 18, 2014, Wang Leehom revealed Lee Jinglei was 5 months pregnant. On July 10, 2014, the couple’s first child, a daughter named Wang Jiali, was born.
On February 2, 2017, Wang Leehom revealed Lee Jinglei was pregnant with their second child. On October 7, 2017, Lee Jinglei gave birth to a girl, Wang Jiana, in the US.
On April 13, 2018, Wang Leehom announced Lee Jinglei’s third pregnancy and revealed they were having a boy. On August 24, 2018, Lee Jinglei gave birth to their son, Wang Jiayao.
