Zhao Lusi and IXFORM’s Luo Yizhou Star in Modern Drama, “Houlang”, about Traditional Chinese Medicine

Zhao Lusi (赵露思) and IXFORM’s Luo Yizhou (罗一舟) were announced as the leads in YOUKU’s upcoming series, “Houlang” (lit. Waves后浪), on February 10. The theme of the drama focuses on the younger generation studying traditional Chinese medicine. This is the first modern drama for Zhao Lusi since “Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling” (一不小心撿到愛), which was filmed from May 2020 to August 2020. This is Luo Yizhou’s first major acting role since he debuted as a member of the group IXFORM in July 2021.

The storyline revolves around 20 something year old, “Sun Toutou”, played by Zhao Lusi, who is alone without family. She doesn’t ask about the past or look forward to the future. She accidentally gets into trouble trying to help someone. It’s at this moment when a professor at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, “Ren Xinzheng”, played by veteran actor, Wu Gang (吴刚), saves her in time and also discovers her past. As a result, he brings her to join a traditional Chinese medicine class and helps her restart life.

“Sun Toutou” studies under the tutelage of her new teacher, “Ren Xinzheng”, and goes on the path of learning about traditional Chinese medicine. However, she and “Ren Xinzheng’s” son, “Ren Tianzhen” (played by Luo Yizhou), who is also in the same class, don’t get along with each other and often argue. Throughout the obstacles and long journey of learning, “Sun Toutou”, falls in love with the traditional Chinese culture. Her relationship with “Ren Tianzhen” evolves from being enemies to mutual understanding to cherishing each other.
