Congratulations are in order for Taiwanese actor, Mark Chao (趙又廷 ), and Chinese actress, Gao Yuanyuan (高圆圆) as they announced their pregnancy today! The couple married in 2014 after meeting on the set of the Chinese movie, “Caught in the Web” (搜索). Ever since the couple got married, the public has always been hounding the two about their baby plans since Gao Yuanyuan (b. 1979) is five years older than Mark Chao (b. 1984). There were already pregnant rumors in March when it was said Gao Yuanyuan would be taking a break and recent videos of her only showed the upper half of her body.

Mark Chao announced the happy news on Weibo today with the following statement: “Every time we encounter concerns from everyone [about having babies], we would always reply “Let nature take its course.” Now, we can say, “Yes, thank you everyone for your blessings all this time.” Gao Yuanyuan replied to his post with three emojis.

Mark Chao’s manager provided their comments on the announcement to Apple Daily TW saying, “We are very happy. Mark just shared the news of Gao Yuanyuan’s pregnancy on Weibo. It was a simple way of letting everyone know. Deeply thank everyone for their blessings all along. As for the rest of the details, Mark and Yuanyuan want to protect their own privacy and their baby’s. They are also apologetic for making everyone pay so much attention to them. At this moment, there is not much more to share. Thank you to the media for understanding. Thanks again to everyone.”
