After last year’s “Story of Yanxi Palace” (延禧攻略), Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) continues to capitalize on her popularity by coming out with her own brand of lipsticks called “Sh”. A press conference was held in Shanghai yesterday to promote the lipstick line. Charmaine Sheh shares, “I remember when we were filming the scene when Consort Xian was about to become Empress, whether it was the costumes or the make up look, everything needed to change. You have to make people feel the domineering presence and beauty after becoming Empress. So the lips had to be a little more red, but I couldn’t find a red that I liked. In the end, I was painting like I normally do, I took a few red lipsticks and turned it into a red that I liked. At the time, I thought to myself, if I can come out with my own red color lipstick that I liked, I would feel fulfilled.”
Sheren Tang Responds to Rumors of Her Ignoring Charmaine Sheh Years Ago
As the 28th is Charmaine’s birthday, when asked if this was a birthday present to herself, she says, “We filmed “Yanxi” two years ago. It has been awhile already. Having it ready on time to promote it during my birthday month is definitely a huge present to myself!

Charmaine Sheh also recounts a quote from Chinese author, Eileen Chang, that gave her the idea.: “You can forgo applying powder, can go out bare face, but at the very least, put on lipstick. As long as you put on lipstick, it will immediately brighten you up. I really agree with this thinking. I think lipstick is like magic, it really wakens the person.”

I’m sure she’ll sell a lot of lipsticks but couldn’t she have picked a better brand name like Shh or Sheh by Charmaine Sheh? Lol
