Former TVB Actress, Annie Man, Makes Acting Comeback After 10 Year Absence

Former TVB actress, Annie Man (文頌嫻), took a break from acting after getting married and giving birth to her daughter in 2012. It has been almost 10 years since her last acting project. She is making her come back to acting in a new ViuTV series, “打天下” (no English name for now), starring her one time co-star Stephen Au (歐錦棠). The cast attended the blessing ceremony for the series a few days ago. It’s revealed Stephen Au, who also serves as the producer and stunt coordinator of the series, especially invited Annie Man to be a part of the cast. The two met each other while filming TVB series, “Burning Flame II” in 2002. This will be their second collaboration after 17 years.

When asked about how this collaboration came about, Annie Man revealed Stephen Au had called her first and after extending greetings to each other, he asked if she was interested in filming. It turns out it was her daughter who wanted her to return to acting and her husband was also okay with it, so she decided to accept the project.

The series is about karate and Annie Man plays Stephen Au’s junior apprentice. As Annie Man doesn’t have any experience with karate, she trained for 3 months. When asked if she’ll have to perform any karate moves, Annie Man responded, “There will be some karate moves, even if I have to hit, I don’t mind.” Stephen Au also praised Annie Man for looking great after all these years. When it came to talking about her salary, Annie Man said, “We’re about friendship. It’s a reasonable amount.” Stephen Au was also very accommodating to Annie Man’s schedule as she has to take care of her daughter.
