Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) has been focusing on his career in mainland China in the last few years since leaving TVB. Now that he is a father of a son and another baby along the way, he has been staying in Hong Kong for work. Kevin Cheng was has been filming a movie “All In” (lit. 焚身) with Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗). However, there are now reports that Kevin Cheng will also be returning to TVB after three years to film a series called“Kids Lives Matter” (星空下的仁醫). This would be his first time playing a doctor in his 27 year career.
However, there were rumors that Kevin Cheng is actually returning to TVB to fill up the quota owed to TVB for his pregnant wife, Grace Chan (陳凱琳), in preparation for her departure. Since announcing her first pregnancy, she has taken a hiatus from filming. The last series she starred in was 2018’s “Birth of a Hero” (翻生武林). Grace Chan’s only drama appearance in 2019 was the female lead in a story arc in “Justice Bao: The First Year” (包青天再起風雲). There are no news of her filming anytime soon especially with her current pregnancy. When hk01.com reached out to Grace Chan about this news, she responded, “Of course not true la.” When asked about Grace Chan leaving the company, Kevin Cheng said, “She should’ve signed a very long contract back then. You should ask her next time.”
Aside from Kevin Cheng, the online rumors are circulating Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Elaine Yiu (姚子羚), Him Law (羅仲謙), etc would also be in the cast. The biggest surprise of the rumors stated TVB had successfully invited Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) to be the female lead of this series. Since settling down back in her native Canada with her family, Linda Chung has largely reduced her screen time. Her last series, “Another Era” (再創世紀), was in 2018. If the rumors are true, this would reunite Kevin Cheng and Linda Chung after 12 years since their 2008 series, “Forensic Heroes II” (法證先鋒II).
