Stanley Cheung (張景淳) and Koni Lui (呂慧儀), who play the fan favorite “GungShui CP” in TVB’s “Come Home Love Lo and Behold” (愛‧回家之開心速遞), were dragged into a dating scandal when they were caught watching a movie together by a netizen last month. When the news report came out, the two denied they were dating and said they were only good friends because of their working relationship. However, there are recent reports stating Stanley Cheung was already dating long time rumored girlfriend and singer, Hana Kuk (菊梓喬), insinuating he was cheating on both women!
Earlier last year, Stanley Cheung and Hana Kuk were caught watching a movie together. Both of them were seen acting very cautiously. It’s suspected the two were hiding their relationship as Stanley Cheung was gaining popularity with “Come Home Love” and Hana Kuk is being heavily promoted by Voice Entertainment. After the incident, Stanley Cheung clarified the were just good friends and neighbors. They already knew each other before getting into the industry. He also said the two would often watch movies and are just normal friends.
However, Stanley Cheung and Hana Kuk were caught dining at a Japanese restaurant together last month. Later on, they both entered the same building separately. Things might have turned for the worse as Hana Kuk unfollowed Stanley Cheung on IG, which netizens suspect was a result of Stanley Cheung and Koni Lui getting together. Later on, Stanley Cheung also unfollowed Hana Kuk on IG.
On these reports, Stanley Cheung responded to Oriental Daily News: “Last month, no (didn’t meet). We don’t meet up that often. I’ve never tried [cheating on a girl] before. As for reports that will generate suspicion, I will no longer respond. As for unfollowing Hana Kuk on IG, he says, “It’s not a big deal. It’s like Sammy Shum and I are really good friends and we both unfollowed each other. I will follow whatever I want to see at that moment.” Stanley Cheung on whether he is still friends with Hana Kuk: “We’ve always been good friends.”
Hana Kuk’s record company’s response on the unfollowing incident: “We will not respond on untrue things.” Koni Lui’s response to all this, she said, “This doesn’t have anything to do with me. I won’t respond.”
As for the accusations of him cheating on both women, Stanley Cheung clarifies three things:
- I’ve always been friends with Hana.
- With Crab (Koni Lui), we are just partners and colleagues. There is no development beyond friendship.
- I don’t want to respond anymore on speculative reports that will make people have the wrong impressions and suspicions so people don’t get impacted anymore.
