TVB actor, Owen Cheung (張振朗), recently revealed on a radio show that he had only ever dated one person out of all his rumored co-stars. He dated former TVB actress, Apple Chan (陳芷尤), prior to his current girlfriend, Renci Yeung (楊思泳), who is an actress under ViuTV. Owen Cheung revealed they dated for five years before breaking up in April. Owen Cheung attributed their break up to a difference in their goals.

As it turns out, Apple Chan returned back to Singapore to develop her career there. While she was born in Hong Kong, she actually grew up in Singapore. She made a name for herself after filming the 2017 movie “Ah Boys to Men 4” (新兵正传IV). The movie became the highest selling Chinese language film in Singapore. She will be reprising her role in the 5th installment of the series later this year. Last year she filmed another Singaporean movie, “Killer Not Stupid” (杀手不笨) with Taiwanese actress, Amber An (安心亞). She also filmed two Singaporean web series, “Wonder Kiss” (神奇之吻), where she played a 19 year student, and “Dear Neighbours” (我的左邻右里).

She is definitely getting more opportunities than what she would’ve gotten at TVB. Apple Chan also revealed money was a factor and is obviously making more outside of TVB. She recently came back to Hong Kong to visit her mom. She was seen outside a Sham Shui Po restaurant with her mom and later hugged a middled aged man, who she later revealed to be her godfather. According to frequent guests of the restaurant, the man is the owner of the restaurant and also a doctor.
In an interview with Oriental Daily News, Apple Chan revealed, “I left for more than half year. Since I have the chance to come back, of course I have to visit him (godfather).” (You guys seem very close) “Godfather dotes on me a lot!” As it turns out the two met at a promotional dinner for the 2011 Miss Hong Kong pageant, when Apple Chan was a contestant. She explained, “At the time, he thought I was very well behaved. We both hit it off so he took me as his goddaughter, but we didn’t do any formal ceremony. We both believe this is fate.”

Apple Chan also expressed the status of their relationship isn’t important. She said, “Godfather has helped me a lot mentally. He supports me a lot physically. He especially flew to Singapore for my movie premiere. Overcoming all those hardships and seeing my results now, he is my lucky god!”
Owen Cheung expressed he didn’t know who her godfather is, but did wish for Apple Chan to have a successful career in Singapore.
