After a long break and speculation about her fate with TVB, Nancy Wu (胡定欣) has re-signed with TVB. Her last aired series, “Justice Bao: The First Year” (包青天再起風雲), was in July 2019 but it had already finished filming in May 2018. Since then, Nancy Wu hasn’t filmed any new series. There were rumors Nancy Wu was leaving TVB after her contract ended this year, which is why she wasn’t assigned any new work. Nancy Wu was reportedly in talks with Louis Koo’s company and also EEG to establish her movie career. However, it seems Nancy Wu has decided to stay given the volatility of the Hong Kong movie industry right now.
Her first series since her long hiatus will be “Big White Duel 2” (白色強人2). Nancy Wu will be starring alongside Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Roger Kwok, Natalie Tong (唐詩詠), and Moses Chan (陳豪). Nancy Wu reveals she has never portrayed a doctor before. She said, “I don’t portray professional workers that much. So it feels very fresh. I am looking forward to it too! Everyone has gone through a lot this year, learned a lot more about general knowledge about medicine. The script is still being written. There will be more information later. I will watch more doctor themed movies and do more preparation work.”
It’s reported “Big White Duel 2” will start filming in October and Nancy Wu’s character will have a love triangle with Kenneth Ma and Natalie Tong. Nancy Wu expressed, “I believe the producer will arrange it well and won’t separate him and Natalie.” As for Kenneth Ma and Roxanne Tong’s relationship, Nancy Wu said, “Happy for him, looking forward to collaborating again!” The producer of the show said Nancy Wu won’t be a third party. Her character will be a very cool and full of attitude doctor. Kenneth Ma on working with Nancy Wu again, “We’ve known each other for a long time and are good friends. Hope the script will be written well. If the script is written well, everyone will have good developments.”
