The fourth installment of TVB’s “Forensic Heroes” (法證先鋒) series is set to begin filming soon. The series has always been a ratings success with the audience. Many actors have gotten famous after filming the series. Nancy Wu (胡定欣), who was tapped to star in “Forensic Heroes IV” (法證先鋒IV) with Alice Chan (陳煒), has now dropped out from the series.
Alice Chan’s popularity skyrocketed after her role as “Princess Taiping” in “Deep in the Realm of Conscience” (宮心計2深宮計). She even got the moniker “Netizen’s Best Actress” and is a favorite to win this year’s “Best Actress” award from TVB. It is rumored Nancy Wu dropped out because she was being compared to Alice Chan and coupled with the latter actress stealing the show with her performance. The series is now moving forward with Alice Chan and Nancy Wu’s BFF, Selena Lee (李施嬅) instead.
Aside from Alice Chan and Selena Lee, two rising starlets, Jacqueline Wong (黃心穎) and Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗) will also be joining the cast. As for the male leads, they will be played by Raymond Wong (黃浩然) and Shaun Tam (譚俊彥). Former TVB and ATV actor, Gabriel Harrison (海俊傑), who hasn’t filmed a Hong Kong drama in a while is also set to join the series.
When asked to comment about Nancy Wu quitting the drama because of her, Alice Chan denies the claims and responds, “There must be another reason why she dropped out of the series. We are good friends. We supported each other during filming of “Deep in the Realm of Conscience.” Everyone suffered a lot filming this series. If we didn’t have good partners like Nancy, it would be hard to endure and hard to act. That’s why us sisters will support each other.”
