Hong Kong artists, William Chan (陳偉霆) and G.E.M. (鄧紫棋), are the coaches for the male team while Kris Wu (吳亦凡) and Victoria Song (宋茜 ) coach the female team in the new Chinese reality show, “The Next Top Bang” (中國夢之聲·下一站傳奇). The show separates the 108 contestants into male and female teams. Each contestant will go through singing and dancing to advance each round. The final winner will get the singing and dancing MVP. As for popular idol, William Chan, he has countless of phrases in the show that have left many fans in awe.

First off, he has told contestants that “In the entertainment industry, you can’t sleep.” He also measured his height with other contestants. Later on he had a serious face and turned to tell G.E.M., “Sometimes you can’t trust what men say. He’ll say he wants to make you happy, but he might be the one that hurts you.” G.E.M. doesn’t know how to react and seems to be embarrassed by what William Chan just said to her on a reality show competition.

William Chan also says he is a strict coach. One of the contestants expressed, “I have high hopes for this stage. I want to move the coaches, but William wasn’t moved.” William Chan stands by his decision and says, “The people in the back of the line, each one of them have high hopes. We’re sitting here because the director believes our judging standards. I rather have less contestants than to downgrade our standards for choosing them. If there are no good left contestants left, then I rather not have them. This is my responsibility to the audience.”

Even though William Chan seems to be strict and demanding, he actually has a warm heart. He seems to be very caring towards the contestants. Once the first male group finished dancing, he especially went to talk to them to stall time. This is to let them catch their breath before they sing so it doesn’t affect their performance.
