Sheren Tang Responds to Rumors of Her Ignoring Charmaine Sheh Years Ago
She sat down recently with the “Chinese Oprah”, Lu Yu (魯豫) for an interview and even revealed she had once considered turning down the role of Consort Xian due to the hot weather. Apart from the weather, she was also filming a movie in Malaysia at that time. So she would have to fly back and forth between Malaysia and Hengdian every three days. She also said she hadn’t filmed a period drama in a while so it became a challenge for her to switch back and forth between two characters.

Charmaine Sheh also talked about the media’s reports about rumors of TVB actresses not getting along. She says it’s hard to avoid competition when everyone is under one company. Even when there is no competition, the media’s reports can influence the actresses and create problems that didn’t exist. She mentioned at one particular TVB anniversary award show, she was standing with the other nominees. She was trying to talk to one of the other lead actress nominees, but that person just ignored her and gave her a stank face. She couldn’t stand it anymore and gave her a similar expression. Charmaine Sheh wouldn’t reveal the identity of the actress.

She also clarified a misunderstanding that resulted from a picture that seemingly showed her rolling her eyes at veteran actress, Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯), at an award show. Charmaine Sheh explains that she wasn’t rolling her eyes at anyone, she claims she was just looking at her bangs.
When Lu Yu said, “Maybe the special thing about this industry is that everything is already decided. To be friends, it’s really, really hard.”, she agreed, but said she hasn’t been bothered by these issues. She feels that she won’t worry so much and that will continue to go forward.
