Chinese actor, Gao Yunxiang (高雲翔), attended the last trial session today for his sexual assault case in Sydney, Australia.  The latest news points that Gao Yunxiang is now being charged with seven new offenses.  He was originally charged with the two heaviest sexual assault crimes.  The new charges include false imprisonment of the victim.

Gao Yunxiang Makes First Public Statement Since Sexual Assault Case

In the last trial, Gao Yunxiang and the other defendant in the case, Wang Jing (王晶), requested for in-person cross examination with the victim and witnesses.  Gao Yunxiang’s lawyer argues there are inconsistencies in victim’s third testimony compared to the previous two versions.  He claims in the first version of the victim’s testimony, she never mentions being sexually assaulted by Gao Yunxiang.  She even rejected a medical examination.

In the prosecutor’s rebuttal, he claims that whether the CCTV footage shows the victim willingly agreed to engage with Wang Jing or not, it’s up to your interpretation of the video.  Regardless if the video shows the victim not rejecting Wang Jing, her showing good feelings towards him, or even engaging in intimate behavior with him, it doesn’t mean that the victim was willing to engage in sexual activity with both Wang Jing and Gao Yunxiang.

Due to the intricacies of the case and a plethora of information to be reviewed, the judge has decided to set a new court session for November 14.
