Former KAT-TUN Member, Junnosuke Taguchi, and Rena Komine Arrested for Marijuana

Former J-Pop group KAT-TUN member, Junnosuke Taguchi, was arrested today with his girlfriend and actress, Rena Komine for possession of cannabis. According to Japanese media, the Narcotics Control Department of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare suspected Junnosuke Taguchi and Rena Komine were in possession of cannabis so their home was searched. Authorities arrested the two for violating the laws under the anti-cannabis act. The two are currently being investigated by the Narcotics Control Department.

Junnosuke Taguchi debuted in 2006 as a member of Johnny’s Entertainment group, KAT-TUN. He left the group and Johnny’s Entertainment in March 2016 to focus on his solo career. The 34 year old is said to have been dating Reno Komine, who is 5 years his senior, for over 10 years. At the time of his departure from KAT-TUN, it t was rumored Junnosuke Taguchi left to marry Reno Komine. While the two aren’t married, their relationship has been stable, but the news of their arrest has shocked the public.

Junnosuke Taguchi’s former group member, Koki Tanaka, was also arrested in 2017 for cannabis. His girlfriend, who was living with him at the time, was also arrested. Koki Tanaka denied the drugs were his, but when he did a drug test, the results came back positive. He later came out and made a public apology. While he was not prosecuted due to insufficient evidence, his image still took a hit.
