There’s no doubt about his A-list status as an actor as he can take on a lot of versatile roles. In an old interview that was suddenly dug out by netizens today, he was asked if he could accept portraying a gay character. His response shocked a lot of netizens and gave everyone a good laugh.

In the interview, Hu Ge is asked if he would be able to accept more “variant roles such as a homosexual?” He quickly responded, “I think I can portray it.” This is where it gets interesting as the host asks in which aspect. Hu Ge responds back, “Are you asking top or bottom? It’s 1 or 0, right?“, eliciting laughter from the interviewer. He continues saying, “It depends on the needs of the character, but being a bottom is easier to portray. Bottoms are easier to imitate. A top doesn’t seem to have a lot of representative things on the surface, it’s hard to imitate. I am not really familiar with their world, but I wouldn’t mind portraying it if it was necessary.”
