The cast of TVB’s new series, “My Life As Loan Shark” (街坊財爺), were in Shatin recently to promote their new series, which airs on September 2. As it turns out, Mandy Wong and Lokyi Lai’s wife, Nicole Lee (李潔瑩) were contestants and roommates for Miss Hong Kong in the same year. Lokyi Lai expressed, “All my work partners now are my wife’s friends. It’s like I am under surveillance the whole day. This time I also flirted a bit with Leslie Chiang (姜麗文), but Mandy Wong didn’t tell my wife.”

When asked if it was awkward filming kiss scenes with each other Mandy Wong laughingly said, “It’s not like there are a lot of kiss scenes. We wanted to create a romantic atmosphere from Korean dramas. We often have water cars to film rain scenes. We were just missing clouds.” Lokyi Lai said, “Because there weren’t many [kiss scenes], so it was regretful. I requested the director to have rain in each scene like Korean dramas because I really like to watch Korean dramas.”

Lokyi Lai also shared in every series, even if there are kiss scenes, he would let his wife watch them. He actually reveals his wife is his number one fans. Mandy Wong also praised Lokyi Lai for taking care of her like a girlfriend outside of filming and said the two of them had a lot of chemistry in the series. Lokyi Lai returned the compliment and said, “Mandy is lovable during and outside of filming. Whoever marries her is a lucky guy!”
