Getting dumped via email or text must be the worse way to break up with someone. So imagine the horror when you’re an actress and your boyfriend denies dating you after the media publishes footage of you guys being together. This was the unfortunate case for actress, Wan Zilin (万籽麟), and actor, Qu Chuxiao (屈楚萧).
Qu Chuxiao is known for his role as “Liu Qi” in the 2019 Chinese blockbuster movie, “The Wandering Earth” (流浪地球), and “Prince Yongqi” in the 2018 series, “Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace” (如懿传). Wan Zilin was born in 1998 and is known for her role as “Kali Jiang” in the 2020 series, “iPartment 5” (爱情公寓5).
On April 20, gossip reporters uploaded a video of Qu Chuxiao and Wan Zilin praying together at the Hongluo Temple (红螺寺) in Beijing. Throughout the video, they are seen hugging and holding hands and arms. At one point, the two are also seen enjoying a meal together and riding on his motorcycle together. Soon after, the topic “Qu Chuxiao Wan Zilin” was trending high on Weibo with dating rumors floating around.
However, Qu Chuxiao posted on his Weibo a few hours later denying the romance rumors. He said, “There is no romance. Don’t block the lady from her destiny. The view at Hongluo Temple (红螺寺) is not bad. Squatting 60 km in advance is a bit exhausting.” Many netizens felt Qu Chuxiao’s last sentence was hinting that he was being “set up” because the paparazzi were already there in advance.
Wan Zilin posted this shortly after Qu Chuxiao’s post: “Just found out I got dumped. Thank you for your concern.”, alluding to Qu Chuxiao breaking up with her by denying their relationship publicly. Qu Chuxiao had been involved in a few dating rumors last year, but he had denied them all. He reportedly lost out the male lead role alongside Dilraba in her new series, “The Long Ballad”, due to issues with his management company.
