Lisa-Marie Tse (謝嘉怡) has been one of the most popular Miss Hong Kong winner in recent years. However, her dad, Peter Tse (謝廣勝), was also a highlight of his daughter’s win. Many netizens noted Lisa-Marie Tse’s father was very hip and young, and didn’t believe he was already 54.
Peter Tse has always wanted his daughter to join the Miss Hong Kong pageant. Now that she has won the crown and been getting busy with her duties as the Miss Hong Kong winner, Peter Tse has also been getting busy himself. He created a Douyin (TikTok) account last month and called himself, “Celebrity Dad Peter Tse”. He has already amassed close to 5,000 followers.
In his introduction, he wrote, “Miss Hong Kong 2020 winner, Lisa-Marie Tse’s father. When I was young, I flew from Hong Kong to Scotland, worked hard, married, and had children, for a better life.” Peter Tse immigrated to Scotland in 1992. He opened a Chinese restaurant and a fish and chips restaurant with his family in Scotland in 2001. Later on, he opened two renewable energy companies and worked with the local government to develop renewable energy for seawater power generation.
Most of his posts are promoting Lisa-Marie Tse and his wife. In order to prove it’s his account, he even did a video with TVB actress, Jan Tse (謝芷倫). When a netizen left a comment and said he is using his daughter’s name to become popular, he responded, “You’re over thinking it.” There were also quite a number of netizens supporting Peter Tse and even jokingly called him “father in law.”
Peter Tse has already returned to Scotland. It’s reported he will fly to Hong Kong with his wife next January to visit their daughter.
