Miss Hong Kong 2020 contestant, Jessica Liu (廖慧儀), hasn’t made a public statement since her ex-boyfriend, Sam Cheung, passed away from suicide on December 2. Since then, his younger sister has revealed his suicide note and spoken to the media about her thoughts about Jessica Liu. Initially, she revealed that she had notified Jessica Liu about her brother’s passing through Instagram. She had read it but didn’t respond. On December 3, Sam Cheung’s younger sister revealed Jessica Liu finally responded to her.
Sam Cheung’s younger sister had sent the IG story of her note confirming her brother’s passing to Jessica Liu. She had included the messages, “Just wanted to tell you. You won’t care anyways.” Eight hours later, Jessica LIu responded to his younger sister, “Was it Sam’s idea to reveal the suicide letter?” Sam Cheung’s younger sister said, “That’s what you care”. Jessica Liu responded, “Because he had already written this piece earlier on. During November. He only gave it to one of my good friends. My good friend received it in November. They didn’t mention it nor did they let me see it. It’s been hard on you the past few months. Take good care of yourself and your family.”
His younger sister revealed it was about 8 hours later that Jessica Liu responded to her message. However, she felt Jessica Liu was very cold as her first message was whether it was Sam’s idea to reveal the suicide note. She responded to Apple Daily saying, “Feels a bit cold. When my family heard her saying that they all felt disappointed.”
Ex-Boyfriend of Miss Hong Kong 2020 Contestant, Jessica Liu, Passes Away from Suicide
There have been rumors TVB was initially going to have her as a host on the Entertainment News Channel, but those plans might change. She was also set to perform at the annual Tung Wah charity show. However, it’s reported she will no longer be attending anymore, seemingly tied to Sam Cheung’s passing.
