It has been a while since Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗) has graced television screens. Her last series that aired was “Forensic Heroes IV” (法證先鋒IV), which finished airing in March 2020. She filmed a movie, “Burning” (焚身), last year and had a supporting role in “Flying Tiger 3” (飛虎之壯志英雄), both which have yet to air.
With reports that TVB was bringing back Sheren Tang (鄧萃雯) and Wayne Lai (黎耀祥) for “Rosy Business 4” (巾幗梟雄4), it was rumored back in April that Rebecca Zhu would be joining the fourth installation as Wayne Lai’s younger sister and play a couple with Him Law (羅子溢). However, there are now rumors that Rebecca Zhu has been ousted from the series.
It’s rumored with the new executives in charge at TVB, they were reportedly unhappy with the negative rumors surrounding Rebecca Zhu in the past few years. First, it was the complaints she made publicly about “Wonder Woman” (多功能老婆) co-star, Tony Hung (洪永城), adding several intimate scenes without discussing it with her first and that she couldn’t push him away since they were still filming. The media started questioning Tony Hung about it at each event and made him sound like he was taking advantage of her. He was quite upset about Rebecca Zhu’s complaints and the media’s portrayal of him. At one point, there were rumors the tension between them escalated and that it would be difficult to have both parties return for a possible sequel.
Another incident stemmed from last year’s “The Dripping Sauce” (大醬園) when Katy Kung (龔嘉欣) made a post complaining about a certain actor getting special treatment on set and was acting like a diva. While Katy Kung didn’t specifically name the person, the media and netizens started speculating the person was Rebecca Zhu. It was almost a month later until Rebecca Zhu responded to Katy Kung’s venting post, denying the allegations.
