News broke out in May that Fan Bingbing was brought in for questioning by the authorities for tax evasion due to the “Yin Yang contract” (陰陽合約) scandal. The Yin Yang contract refers to two sets of agreement, one with the amounts filed for taxes, and the other with much higher amounts that was never reported. Fan Bingbing who is normally very active on social media, hasn’t posted anything since June.

During the fan meeting, Fan Chengcheng told the fans, “Recently, there have been a lot of incidents. You realize no matter how good you are, there will be people attacking you when you’re down. The next time you see me, I’ll be more mature and have the ability to protect you [fans] and my family.” Fans are worried about Fan Chengcheng’s emotions regarding his sister and the impact it has on his career. There are rumors Fan Cheng Cheng’s activities and shows have been temporarily halted due to his sister’s tax scandal, but nothing has been confirmed.

Fan Chengcheng joined “Idol Producer”《偶像練習生》in January and officially debuted in April as the third member of Nine Percent. Under his sister and his future brother in law, Li Chen’s (李晨) tutelage, Fan Chengcheng was looking to have a bright future. Due to his sister’s tax scandal, it is rumored he has been banned from appearing on screen. In addition, authorities are also investigating Fan Chengcheng’s background as there were speculations that he is actually Fan Bingbing’s son. Fan Chengcheng has not responded to these rumors.
